My Dear Friends,
I am absolutely delighted to learn that the 2008 North American Police Ski Championships raised another $31,000 for Winter Special Olympics, bringing your total to more than $631,000! Additionally NAPSC was able to donate another $5000 through their Twin Towers Initiative, to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Museum.
March 7-14, 2009 will be your 20th anniversary, an accomplishment you can all be proud of. I plan to join you at Snowmass to take part in the celebration!
It was also encouraging to hear that you had participants from about 45 different law enforcement agencies representing the United States, United Kingdom, and Austria. The Italian team has said they are retuning in 2009 and hopefully the Canadians will do the same.
Every year I anticipate how wonderful this event will be and it continues to grow and get better. Every year you put a smile on my face. And every year I am awestruck by how generous you are...with your time,
with your efforts, and with your hearts. You are also to be commended for creating and supporting the new effort to raise additional monies for the National Law Enforcement Memorial Museum, through your Twin Towers Intitiative, to recognize
and honor the 72 law enforcement officers who died on 9/11.
Individually, your energy and your altruism are so powerful that, when combined, result in miraculous changes to the lives of the Special Olympic athletes. It is a great
honor to be associated with you and this event. I thank you for giving such a special part of your soul to these athletes, so they may grow in health and happiness.
On behalf of John Paul Mitchell Systems, I wish you fantastic skiing and VERY good luck!
With Peace,
John Paul DeJoria
